Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

In Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, showgirl Lorelei Lee sails from New York to Paris with her best friend Dorothy Shaw. Engaged to the wealthy Gus Esmond, Lorelei spends the voyage collecting admirers and diamonds, while Dorothy looks for real romance. The 1949 Broadway musical features the song Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend, and this concert staging at the London Palladium is accompanied by an orchestra of 30 musicians.

Tony Award nominee Megan Hilty (Wicked, Death Becomes Her) plays Lorelei, a role she previously played at New York City Center Encores!, and Rachel Tucker (Wicked, Come From Away) plays Dorothy. The musical has a book by Anita Loos and Joseph Fields, music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Leo Robin, and Tony Award winner Warren Carlyle directs and choreographs.
